The rein effect is superimposed over the gold in 4-1 twist of 108 worked in groups of seven stitches with an equal amount of space between. Like many techniques in Japanese embroidery it sounds simpler than it is. The mechanics of the stitch are simple but judging the angles and spacing around the curves make it far more difficult.

Happy Stitching.

OK. I have been away WAY too long. You have been very busy and your cords are showing the result. Your stitching and your photographs are lovely. Your fade out is perfect!! (not easy to do) and the rein effect on your goldwork is sublime. Honestly, I can see that you've come to love this piece...it shows in every stitch. Congratulations on barreling right along on this one. You'll be finished in no time!
