I've been tagged by Kate for a MeMe! Here are the rules:
1. Link to your tagger and post these rules.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself: some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post and list their names (linking to them).
4. Let them know they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment at their blogs.
Now for the 7 facts about me:
1. I love reading MeMe's and learning something about the ladies whose blogs I read, I know we all share a love of textile embroidery, but I like to know a little about the person too.
2. I hate tagging people, I feel like I am imposing on them, even though I don't feel the slightest bit imposed upon by anyone who tags me!
3. There is a voice running in my head all the time, it just never shuts up, from the moment I wake, to the moment I fall asleep. I wouldn't mind if it had something worthwhile to say but it talks such rubbish!
4. I don't much care for men but I had the most amazing fortune of falling in love with one of the few men in this world that I actually like, better still, he loves me right back.
5. I don't get the universe, how can something be never ending. Surely it has to end somewhere, but if it does, what is outside that?
6. I love this planet, all the flora and fauna. I don't understand how it came to be but I am thankful that it did and I think that it is more that time that we started to treasure it and find ways of preserving it rather that using it up as quickly as possible.
7. All my life I have tried to stick to the rules, but as time goes by I find that being true to myself is more important than sticking to rules set by someone else.
According to rule 2 of this MeMe, I should tag 7 more people. There are more that 7 people who I would like to learn a little more about, but in order to be true to myself (MeMe number 2) I won't impose myself on anyone. If you read this and want to share 7 facts about yourself, please link back, I would love to hear about you.

Well, Carol-Anne -- I feel pretty much the way you do about imposing on people. So I am going to just leave seven facts about me for you in this post:
1. I was born in 1940, the year my uncles left for England to participate in World War II. I am a Gemini, evident only in the zillion projects I have going on at the same time but not in mood swings.
2. I have always been more comfortable with men, perhaps because my father and I were so in tune with each other. (That is not to say that we didn't have our difference, though.) And I have been blessed with the most wonderful husband one could ever ask for.
3. The study of the universe holds a special fascination for me as does the study of rocks and gemstones. Must have missed my calling in life because in later years these subjects seem to appeal most to me.
4. Although I was an artist in my early years, I have channeled that artistic bent into the world of fibers, beads, and dolls over the past thirty years. Love to paint on fabric, too (always did, even as a teenager)!
5. My husband and I are voracious readers. Our home is a veritable library with walls of books in every room.
6. I am an extremely loyal and patient person -- good thing, too, since I raised six kids!
7. Both my husband and I are very active in our local community, working on projects for kids. All the fundraising we do is solely to provide books for school libraries and for children. If an elementary school child does not have a book to read, how can we expect them to dream and wonder and grow into the special person they were meant to be . . .

Thank you, Kathy.
Perhaps one day you could explain the universe to me. I find it fascinating and love those amazing pictures of distant galaxies. I once got to look at the moon, Mars and Jupiter through a really powerful telescope, fantastic. But the size thing totally boggles my mind, sometimes when I can't sleep, that voice in my head keeps going on and on about it!
i'm like you- i don't like imposing meme's but since you were generous and shared a little bit of yourself here i will too-
-born on the US west coast (seatle area) grew up in yokohama japan-HS in virginia, college in california and driven coast to coast a few times so have been to most states in the US. -my last 2 trips to japan felt like homecomings
-i can remember making things since i was around 6 or 7-and the obsession never ended...
-love plants, cooking, and taking care of the people around me-2 sons entering college now. i am surrounded by musicians for some reason....
-men, i have a very special one in my life at the moment (5 yrs). 2nd husband had to go-he thought drugs were an answer-go figure! #1 passed away from leukemia. men are fine- you just have to choose well.
- i like cats but not to excess. i have 2.
-i worry about the world we are leaving today's children. i practice small things-recycle what i can, conserve. i drive a car i bought new over 20 years ago. it feels wasteful now to get a new one!
-i like green-a lot!
-i have a need to teach kids art and enjoy it very much. if i wasn't practicing shibori full time, i think that's what i would do.
